Protection - Transport your bikes with care. The Thule Apex 4 bike hitch rack combines security, convenience and style. The Apex features the Hold Fast Road Dampening Technology (RDT) Cradles that absorb the shock of the road. The RDT cradles are not just made of shock absorbing material, the part of the cradle that the bike frame rests on actually moves up and down and acts as a mini shock absorbing system, providing much more shock absorbance than a simple cushion. The Apex bike rack also has patented No-Sway Cages to limit swing and bike-to-bike contact. Arced arms and taller mast height provide greater ground to bike clearance.
Security - The Thule Apex rack includes a heavy-duty integrated bike lock to lock your bikes to the rack; for convenience the lock retracts into the rack mast. The bike rack is locked to your trailer hitch with the integrated Snug-Tite receiver lock. The Snug-Tite receiver lock also tightens the rack to the trailer hitch to substantially reduce rack movement and rattle as you travel.
Convenience - The Apex Swing hitch bike rack swings open so you can access the rear cargo area of your vehicle without removing the bikes from the rack or the rack from the car. The rack clicks in place when fully opened or closed and is then secured with the attached locking pins.
The Apex Swing bike rack comes nearly fully assembled. Attach the swing arm assembly to the Apex Swing 4 bike carrier with a single bolt and Thule provided tools. Slide the bike rack stinger into the hitch receiver and the auto pin clicks in place. Tighten down the Snug-Tite locking knob to secure the rack. Lift the upper Hitch Switch and raise the bike arms until they click in place. The rack is ready for immediate use.
