You get 4 bases in the Thule 480 Traverse Foot Pack. Each base sits on the vehicle roof and provides a stable platform for the rack bars. Each foot has a rubber pad on the bottom to protect your car's finish. Thule has designed the Traverse feet to be easier to install, with an integrated tensioning tool that tells you when the rack is properly secured. The Traverse system is also stronger than competitor's racks. The Black resin exterior and coated steel internal hardware is very durable and corrosion-resistant.
