The Vortex SX Rack is RhinoRack's rack for raised roof rails (and a few cars with flush rails). This roof rail rack has low profile feet and requires require minimal assembly. To accomodate the variety of rails there are several diffent style of feet. Images are on the Vortex SX Rack page. The crossbars are secured to the feet from inside the crossbar and the crossbars have locking endcaps. The aerodynamic crossbars with VRX strip substantially reduce noise and drag. The CrossRoad rack is Thule's raised rail roof rack. The CrossRoad foot is made of metal with an nice plastic shroud. It clamps around the raised rails of your car with a steel strap that has a thick rubber coating. The AeroBlade cross-bars cut the wind, reducing drag and nearly eliminating noise. With AeroBlade crossbars, adapters may be needed for some accessories, some accessories are not compatible, so be sure to check our rack and accessory guide. Locks are available separately, security is industry standard. While locks cost extra the Thule one key system allows for having the same key for the racks and all accessories. The Aeroblade bars and CrossRoad feet are awesome quality. Quality, looks and no noise, this is the rack to get!

The RailGrab roof rack system is for cars with flush mount roof rails or raised roof rails. The foot is made of metal and plastic. It fits tight and looks clean and compact. The round crossbars have a plastic sleeve. The traditional round bar design is compatible with most accessories, adapters are NOT typically needed for most accessories. Locks are not included, but it takes SKS lock cores so you can use the same key for all of your Yakima gear. Comes fully assembled. The RailGrab towers include 3 different size claws so if you switch cars it is more likely you can use the same rack. It is a great fitting solid rack.
